At the two locations in Gießen and Marburg, around 436,000 patients are cared for in 80 clinics every year: 342,000 outpatients and 94,000 in the wards. Around 9,600 employees work here in a wide variety of professions – including, of course, many doctors and nurses, but also laboratory assistants, physiotherapists, engineers, computer experts and cooks.
The UKGM has already made history in Germany. It is the first privatized university hospital in the country and is the third largest university hospital in the Federal Republic of Germany.

The UKGM supports the identified research priorities of the faculties of the medical departments of the Justus Liebig University in Giessen and the Philipps University of Marburg to a great extent. There are successful cooperation projects with industry in numerous areas in order to develop products and services that flow directly into improving the therapy of our patients.
